With our vitamin D sampling kit, you can easily and conveniently check your vitamin D levels from home. Vitamin D plays an important role in the health of our bones. With just a small prick in the fingertip, you can determine whether your vitamin D levels are within the target range. The D2 and D3 levels are determined together as part of the laboratory analysis.
With the DoctorBox sampling kit you can take a closer look at your vitamin D levels in your blood.
Using the blood collection kit, you take a small amount of blood yourself with a lancet and fill the enclosed dry blood card. You then send the sample to our partner laboratory in a pre-paid shipping bag. With the help of step-by-step instructions and the instructions in the Doctorbox app, you will be conveniently guided through the process. Receive your results digitally in the DoctorBox app.
Everything for sampling: collection material, instructions, a return envelope for the lab and your personal test ID for the DoctorBox app.
Home tests do not replace medical advice. If your values are abnormal or you have symptoms, please consult a doctor.
Many people have undetected low values
Vitamin D is mainly produced in the skin by UV-B light and acts as a hormone on bones, muscles and the immune system. The storage form 25-OH vitamin D is measured.
In the winter months, with little time outdoors, darker skin, older age, excess weight or osteoporosis risk. According to the RKI, around 30 % of adults in Germany are not sufficiently supplied.
A deficiency often goes unnoticed. Fatigue, muscle weakness, bone pain, low mood and frequent infections are possible.

Below 30 nmol/l (12 ng/ml) is deficient, 30 to 50 nmol/l insufficient, 50 nmol/l (20 ng/ml) or more sufficient for bone health (RKI/IOM). Very high values from overdosing are harmful.
With a deficiency, agree the dose with a doctor (often 800 to 2000 IU daily) and re-check after 8 to 12 weeks. Summer sun on face and arms adds to the supply.
