What is it?

Testosterone is the main male sex hormone and is present in smaller amounts in women. It affects muscle, bone, libido, mood and blood formation.

Who should test

With falling libido, low drive, muscle loss or erectile problems; in women with cycle disorders, acne or excess hair growth.

Possible signs

Low values in men: fatigue, low desire, muscle loss, low mood. High values in women: blemished skin, scalp hair loss, irregular cycles.

How to read it

Testosterone peaks in the morning and fluctuates strongly; a sample before 10 am is meaningful. A single low value should be confirmed.

Have abnormal values assessed by endocrinology, urology or gynaecology. Sleep, weight and strength training influence the level.

After the sample arrives at the lab, analysis takes 2 to 10 days depending on the test. You are notified in the DoctorBox app as soon as the report is ready.

Is sampling difficult?

No. Every kit includes illustrated instructions. For capillary blood you use a lancet or, optionally, the Tasso+ device for nearly painless collection.

How discreet is shipping?

The parcel is neutral with no hint of its contents. Your invoice only shows DoctorBox.

Can I pick up the test in Berlin?
