Early risk assessment of bone calcium loss—conveniently from home, without X-rays or doctor visits
The OsteoTest | home is designed for early detection of excessive calcium loss from bones—a possible sign of conditions such as osteoporosis or stress fractures, particularly in competitive sports. It can detect changes even before they are visible in imaging procedures such as X-rays.
Scientific basis
The testing method is based on a novel and highly accurate analysis of calcium isotopes in urine using a mass spectrometer. This allows conclusions to be drawn about the body's calcium balance and thus about bone formation or breakdown.
Test can be performed at home
Only a morning urine sample is required (fasting, before breakfast). After collection, send the sample to the lab by mail. Results are available in about 10 business days.

Video instructions for sample collection
You receive a detailed, scientifically validated diagnostic report that analyzes your current bone health. Your individual calcium metabolism is assessed using your urine sample—a key early indicator of osteoporosis.
You will learn:
- How strong your bones are (bone health score)
- How well your body can absorb calcium
- Whether there is a risk of osteoporosis
The report includes a clear graphic representation of your values, an assessment (green, yellow, red), and personalized recommendations. If there are any abnormalities, you'll receive advice on further evaluation and possible steps. You can discuss the report directly with your doctor.
You can find a sample report here.
