What is it?

Zonulin is a protein that loosens the connections between gut cells. Raised stool values are read as a hint of increased intestinal permeability.

Who should test

With irritable bowel symptoms, food intolerances or chronic inflammation, as an additional orientation.

Possible signs

Bloating, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, intolerances; their link to zonulin is not clear-cut.

How to read it

Scientific evidence is limited: zonulin tests are methodologically disputed and “leaky gut” is not a recognised diagnosis in its own right. The value serves orientation, not diagnosis.

How fast do I get my result?

After the sample arrives at the lab, analysis takes 2 to 10 days depending on the test. You are notified in the DoctorBox app as soon as the report is ready.

Is sampling difficult?

No. Every kit includes illustrated instructions. For capillary blood you use a lancet or, optionally, the Tasso+ device for nearly painless collection.

How discreet is shipping?

The parcel is neutral with no hint of its contents. Your invoice only shows DoctorBox.

Can I pick up the test in Berlin?
